Deangelo would certainly get more $$ via offersheet. $4.2 over 4 years would only cost a team a 2nd round pick.

NYR will need to pay him at least 3x his QO amount for 2 years. He wants 3 years to get to UFA, so maybe a little less for that term. But a 4th year would then make contract more expensive in that you'd be buying a year of UFA.

1 year: $2.75 million
2 year: $2.95 million AAV
3 year: $2.90 million AAV
4 year: $3.85 million AAV

Nope ADA has no rights, no arbitration.... no choice.
NYR can sign both him and Lemieux for the 875000 minimum. If they want to play in NHL this year , that is.

DeAngelo will not be getting any sorr of 4 years and multiple millions per.
They just replaced him this offseason with Trouba and Fox. You paying him 4+ million for 3rd pair mins.... NOT.

( I like ADA, but hes obviously not long for NY)

I’m pretty sure he can’t be offer sheeted once he chose arbitration. Especially after July 5th. He doesn’t have any leverage. Very similar to LaBanc in San Jose. I’d guess his next deal is big if he keeps this up.
