Description
Dallas needs help on the right side.

Risto is not THAT great so realistically I think if we do decide to move him, this is something close to reasonable. The dream of Rakell/Ehlers/Cirelli is totally unrealistic.

But CapFriendly can be cancer sometimes so I expect the worst.
Trades
BUF
  1. Faksa, Radek
  2. Gurianov, Denis
  3. 2021 2nd round pick (DAL)
Additional Details:
Faksa is a solid 3C who can, I suppose, deputize at 2C for a bit while Mitts works on his game on the third line. Gurianov is definitely a boom-bust option, but arguably the highest upside besides their untouchables (Hintz/Robertson/Delleandrea). Both non-essential pieces if they want to attempt to improve their blueline.
DAL
  1. Ristolainen, Rasmus
Additional Details:
He's a perfectly fine 2RHD IF his partner can hit exit passes (having such exceptions means he'll never be a 1RHD in my mind). I reckon most people here don't really watch him as much as they claim to. His play along side Pilut is significantly better than how it was next to Scandella most of the season.

Buffalo will just keep risto and hope to improve his value not playing him 10000 minutes a night against very hard competition.

His value is lower right now, but hes not being given away

Im actually starting to think hes just staying. Its fair to say botterill expected to move him, i mean he acquired 3 nhl rhd in like 3 months, but theres no way he can sell this low, watch him go to a team with a #1 d, a coach, and a system, and turn into a vital piece on a winner. Botterill will not only be fired but he may never get a front office job again.

I can see this and I'd be okay with this. I made this trade just as putting a price to his valuation this summer. The amount of Rakell/Cirelli trades I saw were just too much.

I think that the best course of action is to play him this season, and assess at the deadline. If he turns out to be thriving in a lesser role, I think we keep him around. If he doesn't, or even if he's just pretty good, then I think we should trade him when teams can be desperate for a high-powered offensive option going into the playoffs.
