Ristolainen is young. You're using the term dman loosely.
Henrique is older. Longer term. Higher AAV.

Even I would pass. And I'd trade Ristolainen for what the Sabres have up for Colin Miller...

It would give you a 2nd line center until Mittelstadt is ready to take over then Henrique can slide down to 3rd line center kinda like Philadelphia did with Hayes. What else would need to be added for Buffalo to say yes?

Retain half. Henrique will be ~34 when his contract expires. He's worth ~3 mil and has two extra years than Ristolainen. For me to turn down a Ristolainen trade it has to be bad.

Sabres have 3rd line centers 2 years away.
