The Rangers still need a viable 2C and a viable 2LD. Strome and Hutton are just stopgaps in the meantime.

For LD, all the Rangers have to do is wait for Rykov and/or Miller. As for a 2C, they'll need to draft one or try to get one in free agency.

I also signed Morrow because I don't think the Rangers would scratch Staal, even though they should. Guys like Hajek/Rykov/Lindgren cannot afford to eat popcorn in the press box, so here's a guy they can stash away.

I like the idea of trading one of their RHD next year for a legit 2C. I say next year because the Rangers will have a better idea of what they have in Adam Fox. Even if it means going off the board a bit by trading for someone like W Nylander who is a RW because he’s on a team that’s stacked at centre. Maybe not Nylander exactly but you see what I’m trying to say.

RNH would also be a nice option for a UFA next year. If you gave him more capable wingers than he’s had in Edmonton I’m sure he’d do amazing. I like to think of centres as samurais and their wingers as their swords. RNH was still ****ing **** up in Edmonton with his dull steak knives Chiarelli gave him, so I’m sure if you gave him a Hattori Hanzo like Kakko to wield then they’d do some real damage.

The rangers don't need to sign a 2c, they just need to wait for one to develop. With Andersson, Chytil, Howden, Henriksson, they have some good prospects.. I wouldn't mind trying Kravtsov there either as it'll potentially make the top 6 even better. After all, could he be worse at faceoffs than Chytil? I think Andersson will surprise many in the next 2-3 years and take that role over-- i haven't given up on him.
