Value is there. I'd probably offer Hamilton and Necas plus those picks instead of Nino, Bean and Suzuki... I'd think WPG would want some NHL ready prospects if they were to trade Laine.

For a 21 years old guys who already have a 100 career goal! If im not mistaken he is the 3 or 4 fastest to reach that goal. So no value not there. Winnipeg would look for a established forward like teravainen, a top forward prospect in necas and either jake bean or fleury, and maybe pick. That why why don’t see big trade like that anymore. You must overpay or wait to trade at the deadline for a guy you will need to overpay if you want to keep is services

Laine is the 4th YOUNGEST player to reach 100 goals, not the 4th fastest. IMO, that's a pretty meaningless stat as better players may miss out simply due to having their birthday a few months before or getting injured in their rookie season. In terms of the games for Laine to reach 100 goals, you're talking about 179 games. I can't find a list of where he would be, but he's not in the top 10 of all-time.

WPG fans describe Laine as if he's the 2nd coming of Ovi and use cherry-picked and often meaningless stats to support their belief. He's not anywhere close to Ovi level and has a number of issues that seemed to get brushed under the carpet i.e. when he's not scoring, he's useless, seeming lack of interest in off-the-puck game, wants a massive contract. I think the value is fine. However, I think pieces could be swapped accordingly i.e. TT instead of Nino, Fleury instead of Bean, picks, etc.

The other thing that gets forgotten is that this opens up space for WPG to sign Connor, a more valuable player IMO due his well-rounded game, and that WPG only moves Laine if they can't afford/soured on him. If that's the case, his value isn't going to be "we don't have to or want to move him" level. It's going to be "let's work something out" level.

Your completely out of line. The only things laine is compare for with ovy is that deadliest shot. No one comparing the physical side of both players. And laine is not having a backstrom who set him up. He play most of is nhl minutes with third line caliber center. A 20 games spend with paul stastny and over that spend he was producing at a high level. I mean the guy is there to score goal not to make plays, if no one can set him up he becomes useless. You need a adam oates for a brett hull or a trottier for a bossy. Thinking the jets would accept trading a players like laine for a poor return like that is just ignorant. A players who reach 50 point on a great year plus 2 prospect who haven’t prove anything yet is a
Bullshat trade and pick are even worst.

You asked for TT+ and I said it was reasonable. That's a 70 pt player right there! I think a replacement roster player + prospect + pick is about Laine's value. You can't sit there and say he's worth a tonne because of some meaningless statistic, but in the same breath say he needs a playmaking C as good as Adam Oates to reach his potential. Players worth the big returns drive their own offence. Laine doesn't do that and, even by your own words, needs a HoF level C to set him up. Your request is totally unreasonable.

TT + prospect + pick makes some sense. It would be a swapping of skillset. CAR trades more of a playmaking W in TT for a goalscorer in Laine. Given that the latter is harder to come by, at least one as good as Laine, + differences in age means that CAR pays extra. I don't see the problem.

Again, you're asking for an Ovi, Benn, Kane level return for a player that is quite some ways away from being those guys, if he ever makes it all. Hockey is more that just being able to put the puck in the net. There are significant issues with Laine's off-the-puck play and his seeming interest in addressing these issues. If he isn't scoring, he's isn't doing much else. This has to be considered when discussing his value. You also have to consider that Laine's availability is dependent on two scenarios: (a) he's expensive to re-sign, and/or (b) WPG management has soured on him. If neither of those two scenarios come to fruition, than Laine will remain a WPG Jet because there is no need to a player that is good, you want to keep and is re-signed under the cap. However, if one of those scenarios does take place, his value is immediately lowered because WPG management will be actively trying to move him instead of just taking phone calls. The trade presented above would be based on the latter scenario in which Laine is being shopped, so you can't value you him as if that wasn't the case.
