Description

Capitals is my team, but what fun is it to be interested in the league if you don't have a decent idea of your opponents?

This is my outside look for the Panthers line-up. Is it reasonable or do you - fans of the team - see other likely line combinations or pairings at defense? Who's got that special chemistry with another players etc.

When I tried to put together this line-up, I realized that this is a cap crunch situation, just as it is with my own team. Is anyone being traded before season opener? Sceviour? Pysyk? Or will it be a 22 man roster? Because as of now, it would be hard to fit either Tippett or Heponiemi, unless doing some minor tweak.

Good thing for them is that Dadonov & Hoffman can both move on both wings on 1st/2nd line. Same with Connolly/Vatrano but they'll be in middle-six barring no injuries. Think Hunt can play at NHL level but idk if he'll keep it up. There are also Tippett and Heponiemi who have chances to win a roster spot.

Malgin mostly played W I think and Acciari can play C so likely Sceviour-Acciari-Malgin. Hawryluk also played a part of the season in the NHL; is a better checking forward than Malgin. Malgin should only play in the top9 imo. Brouwer on PTO.

Matheson-Ekblad is probably the first pairing, on paper and on-ice. Yandle/Matheson could switch sometimes. Weegar-Pysyk is the third pair like you put.

If Montembeault isn't ready (I think he is), they can get a backup via trade.

So Malgin (top9), McCoshen (and maybe Brown) would be my extras.
