I'm having trouble understanding how the team you have now is better than the team we have now.

Admittedly, Laine is an upgrade on Silfverberg and a younger Ryan O'Reilly is an upgrade on Getzlaf, but Caleb Jones is several steps behind both Brendan Guhle and Jacob Larsson and does not look to be a prospect superior to Josh Mahura. This at a cost of four roster players, a reasonably well-regarded prospect, and a draft pick? I'd rather take my chances with the team we have now, bringing forward the guys we have now, and developing Jones, Lundestrom, Groulx, Morand, Zegras, Tracey, Lacombe and whoever we draft with the first in 2020. Getzlaf is still one of the premier passing centers in the League and Silfvrberg is the best two-way player we have.

Surely you realize the Blues won't come anywhere near doing that, right?
