Put Vali on LTIR and they will go with a 23 man roster, Czar and Quine can be the potential switch out wingers with Rieder. I think the only way Rieder gets signed is if they decide to send down Dube for further development in the AHL.

Which I think may happen if Peters tells Tre Dube will be in the press box at the start of the year. Dube is waiver exempt, and will benefit more getting top minutes and PP time in the AHL vs being a scratch in the NHL. Plus Czar, Quine and Rieder will all be UFAs next off season, so having two of them sit in the press box isn't a huge deal.

I think it’s been said Valimaki will be on IR and not LTIR because LTIR prohibits you from accruing cap space as the year progresses, that being said it’s still manageable to run a 22 man roster in that case

Either way if they start the season with a 22 man roster, once the season starts and Vali is on IR, they'll more than likely call up an extra forward, because the team will get that cap relief after the season starts. They just wont get the cap relief when the roster is submitted before the season starts.

Still will probably depend on what they decide to do with Dube, on if they give Rieder a contract or not. Unless he agrees to a 2 way deal.
