If hamonic would come here next summer for 4x5 I’d take that. Makes sense as he just built a huge house here.

Only Wheeler and Little are at risk of decline and the rest of the forward core should be getting stronger and are locked down. If they let the young D take their lumps and learn from them this season and add an offseason piece or two like Hamonic and Honka, they would be below the cap and looking pretty solid again for a playoff run.

I agree 100%. It also wouldn’t hurt to get a draft pick like #3 and get byfield to solidify that 2c spot down the road.

Expansion draft wise, the Jets are also fairly well shielded with Heinola, Gustafsson and Vesalainen exempt

Forwards: Scheifele, Wheeler, Laine, Connor, Ehlers, Roslovic and Copp/Lowry
Defense: Morrissey, Niku, Pionk
Goalie: Hellebuyck

Seattle would likely take Lowry/Copp or possibly even Bryan Little. If they go out and get a big name Defenseman this season, they would likely lose Pionk or Niku to expansion.

I was thinking they could send seattle a pick and prospect to take little.
