Description

Michael Russo from the Athletic speculated in a recent Q&A that it's possible the Wild might pursue Mikhail Grigorenko next season to help Kirill Kaprizov with his transition over to the NHL since they're currently linemates on CSKA Moscow. Grigorenko never seemed to get anything going here in the US, but does anyone have any thoughts on why? His point total in his first year in the KHL after leaving Colorado wasn't anything special, but since he's been playing with Kaprizov the last 2 years he's pretty much been a PPG player in the KHL. I'm not suggesting he'd do that in the NHL because the talent level is different, but seems like a low risk option for the Wild to get a center and help Kaprizov get started in the NHL.

His issue was always his hockey iq, processed the game too slow, would have mental lasps bc of it.

Solid when engaged and focused, a complete liability if he disengages. Top 6 hands, bottom 6 iq

That isn't true. I've been watching CSKA and he has centered Kaprizov every game I've seen (about 20 counting the ones I saw last year). He might have played wing in the past, but it seems like he's a full-time center now.
