Was actually thinking about Seabs to Van the other day. Think you're pretty close to spot on with what it would take (ie. Taking back Loui).

I don't think a Seabs/Eriksson swap is worth it, especially if we retain. Seabrook is a good veteran leader, a Chicago icon, and while he is not at the level he was before, he is still a defenseman who can play 18-20 minutes a night if necessary, which will be very helpful once our D prospects make it to the NHL. Eriksson is a borderline AHLer who will play 13-15 minutes a night, maybe score 25 points a season and be a defensive liability. The only benefit we get from this is that Eriksson's contract expires two years before Seabrook's contract does, but at that point it will be much easier to trade or buyout Seabrook. There are many deals I would do to unload Seabrook, but the Seabs/Eriksson swap is not one.

actually if Erickson is anything, he is not a defensive liability. youre right about 20 points and 13-15 minutes a night, but he's been a great PK/4th liner for us.... just not worth 6 mil smile not saying the swap is worth it, and VAN gearing, up for playoffs, would rather have the 2 less years on LE.

Guess I wasn't fully informed about him, all I've ever heard is that he's "lazy Loui"
