Karlsson would clear waivers right now (if he didn’t have a NMC) - 11.5 for the next 8 years for a soon to be 30 year old Dman isn’t ideal

Karlsson won’t be traded. He’ll turn it around and be elite again. Benn is a goal scorer/playmaker with one goal and 6 points in 16 games who had a career worst point total last season (except for his rookie year) I think Dallas takes that trade pretty quickly. Benn is already 30 with 6 years left at 9.5 mil. Like I said, Karlsson will be fine, Benn is trending down for a year now. So your comment lacks sense.

I think this kind of sums up a lot of cap friendly.

Your player sucks he's been trending down for a year now and he has 6 years left and is a huge cap hit.

But OUR player who has also been trending down for over a year and is going on 30 and has an even bigger cap hit for 8 years will "turn it around."

SJS made a mistake in signing EK. Is it the system or the player, we won't know until he is either moved or they get a new coach.
But the truth is either one of these players could turn it around for a year or two, but on the long end, the last 4 years of these deals or whatever is going to suck for either team.
