Description
The Bruins have a plethora of NHL ready defensive prospects and something has to give. I love Vaak and think hes going to be a really good top 4 man but Im just not sure hes going to be able to do that in our system with Krug and Gryz holding him up.
Kuhlman is already a solid middle-6 forward and the 3rd is a decent enough pick with the Bruins still hanging onto their first 2 round picks.
- Enough with the Cehlarik and a 3rd for an actual player, you need to give to get. Giving up your top prospect but within a position of strength doesnt hurt a ton when you get back a top 6 forward thats cap controlled through 2 years (salary retention is the kicker here)

Palmieri would fit in perfectly on the 2nd line, finally giving Krejci a wing for multiple seasons
- Wouldnt be too hard to keep the same exact top 9 for next season, Ill make a post regarding that as well

I wouldn't move vaak with krug an ufa next offseason and chara 42. Krug could get silly money from someone and the big guy could hang them up.
McGruff and Silkysmooth42 liked this.

Agreed jf, and I thought Vaak showed some grit and determination tonight so his ceiling is looking good and by next year could be a key 5-6 pairing cog!
(The D-core in 2020-21, could be NHL experienced and really "young" = Mac, Carlo, Grizz, Vaak, Cliffy...(and hopefully Krug) etc).

As for "Shmoe" - I agree Palmieri (or a right winger like him ie: Konecny) could be the piece needed to solidify the second line maybe?
The rub tho - what does it take to get a Konecny for example at 22yrs old/US$5.5M until 2024-25(?) - Carlo? Tough call I think and need to def keep Krug if Carlo is traded huh?...

@shmoeman these two guys are right... Vaak is their one great defensive prospect (Zboril and Lauzon and Andersson. are all good prospects, but not great) so he is likely untouchable. However, if they did move him, this is a huge overpayment.

A better trade here would be Vaak for Palmeri (50% retained) and a 3rd or more likely a 2nd rounder

Just thinking of a few RW's to consider or possibly target - BUT what is the ask and can the cap work (probably has to be a US$6M or less contract)?
C Atkinson? Eberle? Konecny? Silfverberg? Tuch? Palmeri?...Others?
