Description
Do we go all in this year and really push for a deep playoff run? NJ got PK for basically nothing so they are making out much better in this deal in my opinion. NJ seems to be in good cap shape they can gather assets for the future as they go for that #1 pick and they will move hall too. Let me know your thoughts.

great move for TOR.
7 million waste of space for the next 2 years and a locker room cancer. Should go over well!
The whole rest of the East is pleased.

So now the Leafs are down to twenty man roster. Leafs certainly don't want Subban's 7.25m cap hit this year or the next two years.
Subban on ice value certainly doesn't warrant 7.25m, also sacrificing Johnsson and more

Raw stats line Subban 2 goals , 3 assist. minus 9. Ceci,. 1 goal, 4 assists plus 8. Teams shouldn't trading for players reputation. It's 2019.

he could perform much better on a roster like toronto you wont get a defense man of his caliber for 7 mill, raw stats are good but arent everything. over the last 7 seasons he has been over .68 ppg, i mean at his current rate you could offer less but i figured with the salary retention you would have to give up a little more. you cant seriously tell me that you think we would be better with ceci over subban? what do you thing a fair deal and salary retention would be?

Good GMs don't look into the past 7 seasons when they analyzing players but look at what that player can do now and in the future. Subban's .668ppg so what. It's the past and a some of that was on the PP. Is Subban going to see much PP time with the Leafs when Reilly, Barrie and Marner are the point man now? Fact is Subban is not a good defender.
Sorry, I think this just another trade and rant saying how bad Ceci has been this season. Certainly you could argue that Ceci has been better than Barrie and any other RHD the Leaf have had for the first 26 games. Plus Ceci had to partner with irresponsible defensively Reilly for for much of the season.
No the on ice value between Ceci and Subban isn't much...,especially at the cost of the Johnsson and the additional cap the Leafs would have to endure with Subban, this year and two years.
There was reason the Devils got Subban so cheaply....He was a cap dump, though he still an NHL calibre Dman. Yea maybe a 4.5m player
No thanks on seeing Subban in a Leaf uniform....but Lindsay Vonn in one,,,that would OK.
