Description
Colorado seems to be after another forward. In my very amateur opinion, these are all the qualities that the PERFECT forward addition would possess:
-Speed. He doesn’t have to be a burner, but he can’t slow down the Av’s team speed
-Playmaking. Colorado has some shoot first guys on the second line in Kadri and Burakovsky that could benefit from a set up man. He could also really help the power play.
-Size & Strength. The Avs could use some more edginess in their current forward group
-Versatility. A forward that can play wing or center - if Bednar wants to stretch out the lineup or in case of injury - would be hugely beneficial
-Likability. Team chemistry has been an important part of Colorado’s recent success

In conclusion - Blake Wheeler would be the PERFECT addition to the Avalanche. So if Kevin Cheveldayoff ever loses his mind, hopefully Sakic picks up the phone. In the meantime, we can dream...

I hope y'all appreciate how great Joe Sakic's been... if it isn't against the Sharks in the playoffs, I'm rooting for the Avs. Hell of a team put together. Wheeler would indeed be perfect on this team.

Things were a little bumpy early on. The O’Reilly trade hasn’t worked out quite as well as Avs fans would have hoped, and the Patrick Roy saga was messy. But pretty much everything he’s touched since the Duchene trade has turned to gold.
