Upside in the trade for both teams.

+ Edm improves their team now while shedding two spare parts. They get a 2nd round pick for a failed prospect who wont play for the organization anymore.

- One extra year of Svens contract.

+ Canucks - Trade allows them to have more room to sign ufas / rfas this summer. They add a reclamation project while doing so who may turn into an NHLer on a different team.

- They lose a second round pick in a deep draft and a skilled prospect in Goldobin who also may turn into an NHLer if given a different opportunity.
