I think you’re pretty right on with the Colorado deal. They don’t have a second round pick this year, and they have a handful of “B-level” prospects who I think they would be willing to move - Bowers, Kaut, Ranta. You could probably include Tyson Jost in that group even though he’s not a prospect anymore. Adding a conditional pick makes a lot of sense, and I think the Avs at least want the opportunity to resign anyone they may add. The conditional pick would have to be 2021 though if it’s based on the player resigning, since they could technically resign Kreider after the draft before he’s a UFA.

i'm saying you try to include an extension to try and pry newhook -- although him falling is the reason Colorado didn't trade 16th overall for kreider at the draft. oh well.
