Wouldn’t the point of NYR trading to be to get younger? Zucker I get has 3 years left on his deal so may make sense but feel like Zucker is sort of a win now move.

It is but if the rangers decide to let Kreider walk, our wingers look pretty thin in terms of offensive production. Minus Panarin of course.

Guys like Kravtsov and even kaako are still going to take time to get used to playing with the big club. Also, Zucker is a cheaper player if Kreider is looking for around 7 million with 3 years of additional control.

With that being said, I do not see the rangers trading Skjei. Our left side is pretty thin unless Tony D can play the left side as some people have stated on previous threads.

Skjei has played on the right side in the past, so maybe Tony D or Fox could play on the left side? Not sure but I’m sure the coaching staff is aware already if a player can or can’t play on the opposite side well.

Based upon the Nash deal years ago, and the amount of teams interested in Kreider, certainly seems reasonable to me.
