Description
Anaheim gets a good young 2nd pairing RHD who is decent defensively and also has a hint of offense along with a guy projected to be a good middle 6 player with 39 points in 48 games in the AHL this year for a young and gritty future top 9 forward and a young LHD stuck behind the stacked left side of Anaheim's defense. This trade is a huge help in terms of positional need for both teams. Anaheim has a ton of young left wingers in the system in Rakell, Comtois, Tracey, Ritchie, and Lundestrom which makes Jones expendable. However on right wing, they only have Silfverberg, Kase, and Terry with only Sherwood on Sprong coming up so they need some help there and Kole Lind fits the bill. Vancouver has some nice depth coming in on the right side but other than Joulevi there is no one else on the left side that they have coming up soon so Guhle helps there, while Anaheim has a plethora of LHD but they need a young RHD playing in the NHL already and that's where Stecher comes in. Overall I believe it's a positional swap that is beneficial for both teams involved. Fair?

Jones was a former late first and Lind was an early second. Lind is scoring on a better pace in the AHL this year and he's ready to step into the NHL right away while Stecher is an upgrade over Guhle.

this is bad for van.... Lind seems to be projecting to be just as good if not better than Jones and stecher is miles better than guhle this makes van worse now when they're in the playoff hunt not to mention jones would probably not even crack the roster right now and have to go to Utica where they have a ton of lws right now
