Description
*Update: I updated the trade to throw in a couple prospects to sweeten the deal. Thoughts?
This is an effort to try and clear up a few things in one move. The kings are clearly sellers. The pens can use a top six winger, a depth wing improvement, and possibly and defense improvement. This is the attempt to do that...

I still don't think that is enough for LAK. Plus Rutherford loves JJ, he would never trade him.

I think Pittsburgh would need to add a prospect or two to make this trade work.

Toffoli and Martinez are each worth a 2nd and a prospect. Lewis is worth a mid-to-late round pick. Galchenyuk isn't worth much more than a 3rd by himself. Kings would need some extra incentive to take back Johnson.

So let's say the 2nd and Galchenyuk for Martinez. The 1st + ??? + Johnson for Toffoli. 4th round pick for Lewis. You can keep that 7th.

Add in an expansion draft exempt B prospect and the Kings would probably do that. Someone like Almeida.

let me ask you guys a quick question. ive seen a lot of this "swap and let team X trade them for the return". So youre telling me, the kings should do double the work the penguins should do while also taking the worst players and contracts back. not to mention how garbage the offer is. Why in anyones right mind is LA going to discount their own trade to take galchenyuk. IF pitt was throwing chucky in to be flipped as an additional that would be one thing, but you cant use him as the package. theres absolutely no enticement for LA to do that.

Don't disagree. From a Kings' fan perspective, If the Kings saw a chance to get another 1st round pick, they might be willing to do the work. I agree there's not enough here to pull the trigger on this trade exactly as described, but the value isn't hugely off.
