Can someone please explain to me why the Flyers are trading Patrick? Especially to get almost nothing in return.

Maybe because he is never healthy and when he is he isn't great? As far as the return, I don't know.

Well, shouldn't we give him a chance? He did okay his first year in the NHL, his second year wasn't too great with his team not being great either. Not to mention he's only 21. His injury history I can understand. He's been injured in his juniors and missed the entire season so far. Other than that, he's played two 70+ game seasons in the NHL, which is fairly acceptable. Malkin is in his 14th season and had only had two 82-game seasons for comparison. Patrick is no Malkin, but we're not giving up on him for so little value.
