Description
Granlund is wooed by the opportunity to play with countryman Laine and speedster Ehlers. Little returns but is best suited to play RW on the Lowry shutdown line. Scheifele line and 2015 line remain intact.

Not totally sold on the left side of the D but with Niku, Heinola, Samberg, Stanley, Dahlstrom and Chisholm all LHD in the Jets' system, it is hard to see them make any significant investment on a LHD. Beaulieu was brought back as a depth move. If Hamonic resigns in Calgary, attention should shift to DeMelo.

Unless Broissoit resigns at the same cap hit he is currently at, he will likely move to a team that will give him more than a dozen appearances per year.

Trade Lowry and Niku for picks
Retain Eakin, he can play 3C
Samberg is NHL ready - Heinola isn't
Berdin isn't NHL ready

I agree with jetman to trade Lowry, maybe to Pitt for Desmith (seems like a popular move on this site)
Niku, IMO, doesn't have a future with this team so sell high.
Bring back Eakin like Jetman said, but only if you get him on a 1 year sweet deal like 2 mill max, but play him at 4C and play Copp at 3C with Roslovic and one of Harkins/Applteon

I'm interested why both of you don't see a future with Niku. He has had awful luck this year but I like the way he sees the ice and creates offense. If paired with a defensive D-man like Hamonic, I could see him excelling in the NHL.

Despite CapFriendly listing him as one, Granlund hasn't been a center in 4 or 5 years. He wasn't very effective at it, so the Wild moved him to Koivu's wing where he took off. I don't watch many Nashville games, but the few I've seen him in he's playing wing there as well.

Its more the fact that Samberg is NHL ready and unless Huddy goes, I can't see Niku paired on the 2nd pairing....So its either Samberg or Niku on the 3rd pair
