Description
Would you think Rosy instead of Copp gets the trade done? I think so, mostly because of Tampa's cap situation. While true value may not be there, two cost controlled forwards and a first back entices them enough to pull the trigger.
I think a cheaper Eakin does a better job than Lowry. Lowry and Tanev can be reunited.
I also like bringing Beaulieu back for some toughness on the back end and he's loved in the room. Niku could possibly even be moved for a pick at the deadline, Maurice seems to not really trust him in the lineup.
This then would allow the Jets to protect Wheels/Schief/Connor/Laine/Ehlers/Cirelli/Copp, JMo/Pionk/DeMelo and Helly in the expansion draft. I would guess they take Little or Edmundson, which would be (hopefully) close to the cap space needed to re-up Laine/Pionk/Copp.

Reaves paid 2.5m per until he's 36. I like that.

I wouldn't give cirelli any more than 6.5M.

He isn't better than Connor, and anyone signing him long term is taking a risk.

Fair. Maybe sign him to like $1.5m then? I think a physical presence is worth something in the lineup.

Also understandable, he's not exactly proven yet. But his play away from the puck at such a young age is well documented. Could turn into a bargain down the line. Plus there are some real good skilled wingers for him to play with (which he also currently has in TB)

Connor is also a steal at this point though.

I’d rather have Lowry over Reaves and Eakin at 4C. Sure he’s not going to score more than 30 points, but he’s got physicality like Reaves and he’s great at shutting down top lines. He’s also one of the best faceoff-men in the league.
