Description
Ok we had our fun. just saying, a compliance buyout wouldn't make sense. It would just be giving free stuff to teams like Toronto, Boston and Vegas. Also it would just be giving a boost to teams with bad contracts (Loui Eriksson). If the cap is reduced. The player contracts will be reduced

If the cap is reduced, player contracts will reduced? That’s not happening lol

If the cap doesn’t go up, a compliance buyout makes sense and it would help plenty of teams.

Its happened before. Why can't they do it again. If you reduce the salary cap by 11%, you can reduce player salaries by 11%.
It just doesn't make sense and what other options does the league have if their losing money

I disagree with your characterization of "plenty." A buyout would ensconce Tampa Bay at the top of the Eastern Conference for the next 4 or 5 years (because they could use one and trade one) and help a few teams: Vancouver (Eriksson), Calgary (Lucic), Edmonton (Neal), Minnesota (Rask), Montreal (Alzner), the Islanders (Boychuk), Buffalo (Okposo), San Jose (take your pick) and maybe the Rangers (Smith, or Lundqvist if they want him to go), Winnipeg (Little?) and Columbus (Dubinsky?). That's fewer than half the teams in the League. A buyout would have little or no benefit for the other teams except indirectly (i.e., if they could accept a buyout candidate from another team, but there aren't many teams who have TWO buyout candidates).

The NHLPA is either going to give buyouts, raise the cap slightly .1 maybe or will have to re negotiate to prevent a lockout cause with this pandemic whatever was agreed to in the past is probably void now
