    not enough value coming back for Toronto to drop 6 mil on. Took a first rounder to get rid of Marleau for one year. Should be at least a second and a third for it to be considered.

    Leafs will have to use their compliance buyout on one of their own player. Leafs have no use for Boychuk at 6m for one year never mind his two years left.

    Different scenario. Carolina has a 6.25M cap hit against them this year due to the Marleau but out. Toronto would have zero cap hit against them in a CBO
