Description
Calgary does seem like a fit and after this season it would be the kind of move I'd expect to see. BTW the trade was not the CJ thing, just the roster.

Bridge Dermott and pinch him for as much money as possible to sign Miky to a 1 year deal so he can get a payday elsewhere next year.
Let Johnsson recover his trade value with a healthy season and that will open up a ton of options for us next year.

Does it really seem more likely that they don't do a roster shakeup (new UFA signings, trades) vs doing one? I don't think Barabanov is enough to make a difference, and doing the same thing over and over again very rarely leads to different results.

I get the logic behind Dermott and Johnsson here, however Dubas doesn't seem to be a "wait and see" type guy.

That is the one thing that would make this roster obsolete. Dubas has never once had a quiet off-season.
    Kessel trade
    JT signing
    Kadri trade

I think he will try to do something (maybe around Kerfoot and getting a different 3C somehow?) but as the roster is now I think this is a safe projection

The trade I am biggest on right now is:

Kerfoot, Dermott, 2nd ---> Florida for Weegar, Wallmark, 4th, (picks are kind of throw ins here to balance)

What are your opinions on this? I've done it a number of times but I don't recall you commenting on it.

I have and my only real issue is the picks. Toronto should be getting the 2nd and giving the 4th. If Wallmark can be a serviceable 3C it makes a good deal of sense

What do you think about the Dermott + Kerfoot for Wallmark + Weegar trade base that's going around? Specifically Weegar as an option. Everything I've seen on him I like, but some people aren't as high on him. Do you have anything for him?
