Description
Strome's best situation is with the Hawks. There's enough uncertainty around contracts and cap in today's environement that he's quite honestly best suited for leaving money OUT of his primary decision making. No UFA or RFA is going to make they money they want this year. Just put yourself in the best place to succeed on a 1 year deal. The cap SHOULD go up next year. It was projected to increase A LOT before COVID...so just wait 1 year until Saad's contract is up.

I'm taking a page out of @Roviet_Sussia I've now done my homework and Pius Suter would be Perfect opposite Kane/Dach. He's a natural LW and a left hand shot. Not afraid to go to the net when he needs to. The Hawks have a PROVEN system to make these imports millionaires.

I know this is just a coincidence, but take note of the home games goal scoring music...Chelsea Dagger...hmmm....

    1. Koekkoek, Slater
    2. Shaw, Andrew
    Additional Details:
This assume Shaw retires. Melnyk won't have to pay a penny of Shaws contract. Insurance will. OTT gets a free NHL Defenseman. He's not going to win a norris, but he'll provide pretty good defense while OTT's prospects develop.

    Three reasons.
A.) with the Cap uncertainty...no UFA or RFA is going to get what they WANT. It's just not possible. This is the wrong year to be looking for a long term deal. Not enough money to go around. So, wait for 1 more year when you can cash in.
B.) He can get back to that .9ppg pace now that (hopefully) that terrible experiment @ wing is over. He's a true center which is a good thing. and he's found GREAT chemistry with Debrincat. He could...risk...going to a different team, but
C.) He's been in other places where the "situation" was NOT good. He knows what uncertainty is like. Going form Erie, PHX, back to Erie...then PHX, Tus, back to PHX. Then only to be traded away! Again, he found great chemistry with Debrincat and they belong on a line together again. A 1 year deal with the Hawks would likely yield a better long term deal than risking an unknown situation with another team.

Sounds to me like the best place for him is the place that is going to make him the most money.

“Chicago is better for you bc you will be MORE productive and therefore MORE underpaid.”

    It’s contradiction in terms lol

If you're thinking 1 day at a time and still believe the cap will be between $84 and $88M...you're right. If you factor in our current COVID environment and don't think the cap will jump that much...you're wrong. What do you think is going happen?

Bruh CHI can barely afford Strome on a 2/3 year deal. He’s gonna get like 4/4.5M on a bridge
