This helps the jets get the LHD they need and get a big 1C. Yes people might say the Pens got screwed but I think its full value on both sides.

If you want Malkin the conversation starts with Scheifele ++. If you want Maata the conversation starts with Trouba + or Myers ++. And those pluses aren't the players you included in that trade.

Well you clearly are nuts. Bryan Little was Malkins equal in almost every stars last year except PP. Little is also a much better PKer and good on draws. He is also 2 years younger and is 1/2 the cap hit. Myers scores better than Maata and had the much better shot stats last year. He is also only 2 years older. I wouldnt do Malkin for Scheifele straight up. Malkin is 30 get your head out of your ass.

Malkin is a top 5 center in the league, no question. Does anyone even include Little in their top 15? 20? In the same amount of games last year, Malkin scored 10 more regular season goals, forget on the PP or not. Their underlying stats aren't even close, look at the HERO chart. Ask a Penguins fan if it matters that Malkin can't PK, he's on the team to be an offensive force. Not to mention he certainly is worth his cap hit, and the Pens have 0 problems moving forward there with Dupuis on LTIR.

Maata played injured almost all of last year and still looked like a top pairing defenseman most of the time. Does anyone say that about Myers? And at that cap hit?

If those players are equal to what the Penguins are giving up, it must be a mystery why the Jets perennially miss the playoffs huh? Should probably hold onto Little and Myers if they're so important for the cup run this year. Pens win any trade for Malkin and Maata, no questions asked. Proven winners that show no signs of slowing down get their teams an overpayment. Get your head out of your ass.

From Last year 5vs5 (Malkin actually played more mins 5vs5)

Little: Rel.CF60 10.02, Rel.CA60 1.80, Rel.CF% 3.40, Rel.GF% -.43, G60 .96, A60 .96, P60 1.92, DZS 28.73%, CFQoT 51.00, CFQoC 49.95, FO% 51.35
Malkin: Rel.CG60 4.25, RelCA60 -3.47, Rel.CF% 3.46, Rel.GF% -.53, G60 .97, A60 .9, P60 1.87, DZS 22.97, CFQoT 52.47, CFQoC 50.15, FO% 44.13

Yea looks like very similar players to me. But please you were quoting a HERO chart without digging deeper. Good Job buddy. Want me to do the Myers and Maata one now because that isnt very good for Maata.

Easy there fellas, this is supposed to be fun!
I am a jets fan and I wouldnt do that deal if I were the penguins. Brian Little is underrated and maybe Malkin is a bit over rated and about to decline (not to mention he seems to get hurt a lot) but he is still definitely one of the top 20 (talent) players in the world.
Trouba + for Maata is just crazy talk though! that deserves a head shake. Not even sure I'd give you Myers for Maata straight up
Malkins contract would handcuff them when it came time to pay Laine, Ehlers, Connor etc. Laine will be 8m plus
It might be the best time for Pitt to move Malkin and still get great value.
Keep it classy
