Bit of a higher pick to NJD in the Zacha trade but not terrible, Ducks fleece the Leafs

if it gets that zacha trade done then why not tbh. id be saying different if cap wasnt flat but its tough. what would you suggest leafs get back in that package to make it more fair?

Don't think the Leafs are trying to move roster players for picks right now unless its straight cap relief. Engvall and Dermott will both be relatively cheap for coming years, would rather move Johnsson allowing us to keep both and not have to play Liljegren

definitely agree with trading johnsson but teams might be driving a harder bargain with his injury. the cap relief would be nice but depends on cost rather than what they might obtain. i still think liljegren will be penciled in for a starting spot unless kapanen is traded in a package for a top 4 RHD. lehtonen makes the dermott deal more possible but losing engvall as cheaper depth might hurt (plus he PK's) but i dont think this scenario is totally impossible. cant wait to see what dubas does

Just can't see the Leafs moving Dermott and Engvall without bringing in a defenseman. I think Liljegren will come up midway through the season like Dermott did a few years ago. Don't need much back from a Johnsson trade as it would unfortunately be strictly cap relief
