I think he tops out as a Kapanen style winger, though I think he's faster than Kasperi Kapanen. I don't know whether he is a 2nd or 3rd liner long term, but either way he will be fantastic depth for Ottawa. He's going to be a murderer on the PK.

He won’t pass Abramov, Tkachuk, Duclair or Laf/Stutzle on the depth chart. And it would be a waste to play him on the 4th line or sit him in the press box. He’d luck out here in Edmonton with Benson taking a step back this year and put overall lack of winger depth especially with our prospects.

He's already a more impressive pro player than Abramov. Duclair has been solid for Ottawa, but there are issues with how sustainable his play was, and when his shooting regressed after the All Star break he really struggled to produce. He's going to sign a 1-2 year deal, and I don't think he ends up being a long term piece in Ottawa, especially if Ottawa lands Lafreniere. Formenton would be a better fit over Duclair on the 3rd line, as a two way PK player. Stutzle is a centre at the NHL level in my opinion.
