November 28
The Pens have gotten off to a dismal 8-13-5 start and have lost the last 4. A shakeup is needed. The goaltending has been atrocious--especially DeSmith--his GAA is over 5. Zucker, Dumoulin and Lee are injured.
GMJR makes one of his famous in season shake up series of moves.
PIT trades C. DeSmith, P. Zacha to CGY for A. Raanta, 2023 2nd, 2024 3rd
PIT trades C. Sheary, J. Carlsson, 2023 1st, 2023 2nd to FLA for J. Huberdeau, 2022 4th
The Pens went 10-3-1 in Dec, 9-3-0 in Jan, then fell off the cliff in Feb, going 2-9-1.
Because of the disappointing play, and having 4 teams to jump over to get a wild card; I decided to do a 1 year retool, trading away Players on expiring deals for assets.

Mar.1--trade deadline day.
PIT trades 1st, 3rd, 4th to MIN for PIT 1st--needed my first back.
PIT trades Rakell, Rust to COL for (2) 1sts, 3rd, and J. Compher(now bad contract).
PIT trades ZAR(RFA rights) to ANA for 2nd
PIT trades A. Raanta to DET for F. Neilson(bad contract), (2) 2nds, 5th
PIT trades B. Tanev, E. Rodrigues, 2nd to FLA for A. Stralman(BC), (2) 1sts
PIT trades B. Dumoulin, D. O'Connor, 1st, 3rd to NYI for J. Beagle(BC), 1st---I wanted that high pick.
Ok so I blew up the team. But all the bad contracts are not JJ bad.

ANA says no. No way DET is trading their 1sts anytime soon.
