I can't see CHI doing that trade. Carpenter is pretty underrated. He does a lot of the "grinder" things that teams need. He's not going to win any awards (by a long shot), but the Hawks are lucky to have him for 2 more years on essentially and ELC deal.

Wasting it's players would be signing Joel Edmundson and Kevin Shattenkirk instead of playing the guys they already have like Wolanin and Brannstrom
