I'd personally prefer to send Zach Smith down to Rockford. He may not like it, but too bad. Having a Vet teach the young guys how to be a professional is bigger than people think. It's why Lias Andersson (by his own admission) isn't fulfilling his draft status.

Best money you can save is going short term with Strome. I think it's safe to assume he gets a "prove it" deal. Everything else looks good.

With the uncertainty of the cap for the future, along with Kirby Dach, Adam Boqvist, Ian Mitchell, Alex Debrincat (10 mil QO) needing new contracts in 2-3 years... I think we save money long term, and get a potentially steal of a contract signing Strome long term.

Nothing right now tells me Boqvist, Dach, or Mitchell get huge long term deals. Obviously my opinion will change hopefully by next season. If they want big money, certain contracts seem more expendable later then they do now. By certain contracts I mean Keith and Seabrook. That's about 12 mil.
