If Hawks can move Maata in a separate deal I can see something like this working.
Keith - Boqvist
Ghost - Murphy
De Haan - Mitchell
Basically an instant replacement for Gus on the powerplay and overall a pretty solid core.

I would spend that cap on someone more defensive than Shattenkirk though.

Hawks probably still pass but its not bad. Not only would we have to move maata like someone else mentioned (which isn't the problem), but this would mean almost no ice time for Carlson, Koekkoek, and Beaudan. Beaudan might need another year in rockford, but Koekkoek was really solid for us last year and is cheap, plus Carlson is definetly ready for NHL minutes and I don't want to block his development

Maata buyout is almost free if no ones are welling to take him
I didn’t know Carlson was NHL ready. Koekkoek is more a 7th dman, like Kulak in MTL, very solid when they play but they are good 7th dman. @Ledge_And_Dairy I don’t know who RHD they could go after, maybe resign Braun to a 1 year deal and move Myers on the 2nd pairing, leaving Braun on the 3rd pairing ?
