Description
Drafted 24th overall in the 2003 NHL draft, Mike was a very good player for a very long time before he fell off a cliff in the 2010s.

He made his NHL debut in the 05-06 season, scoring 11 goals and 34 pts.

It wasn't until the 07-08 season that he exploded offensively, scoring 28 goals and 75 pts.

After putting up back to back 60 pts seasons in 09-10 and 10-12, Philly decided to move him to LA in a pretty big trade (details are below).

PHI got a bunch of younger players while LA got a player who could help them win the cup, and he did that in 2012 and 2014 (still haven't watched that Martinez goal without feeling something in my stomach, I still believe to this day that that LA team was overrated but that's for another day.

In the 13-14 season, he only scored 11 goals and 41 pts. Now, he did play in an all out defensive system but still. He probably hoped he could bounce back in the 14-15 season but he only put up 16 pts, including just 5 goals.

The 15-16 season was his very last in the league, putting up just 2 goals and 5 pts with the Caps.

His career ended with 181 goals and 487 pts in 749 games, pretty good numbers still.

Spare me, how was that team overrated?

We can argue that if the Blues didn't beat the **** out of us physically we would have won the 2013 cup as well making that 3 in a row.

There's nothing overrated about a team that could destroy any skill team by breaking there bodies and defensively shutting them down every night.

      So please, enlighten me...

Wait, I know why you think they were overrated, because they beat your team in game 7 double overtime. Sucks to sucks:/

Dont worry you're still my favorite Rangers fan on here, but I dont appreciate it when your mind occasionally leaves your body.

I feel bad for Richards. I can show you exactly the shift that caused his downfall.

It was actually game 5, but who's counting? As long as the Cup is awarded at the end of it.
