Description
Just playing around but our new GM should try to use his cap space to his advantage and go after cap strapped teams. Targeting short term players like Raanta and Stastny give the team the freedom of moving them at the deadline for picks if the team isn't in the playoffs and also frees up precious dollars for Dahlin and Joki for contracts next season.

I have no idea if these are fair deals for both sides. Did this more so to target some players and Teams that have their backs up against the cap

Stastny in Buffalo makes a ton of sense. Absolutely agree.

Trade isn’t far off, but Vegas won’t give up McNabb just to take Stastnys contract.

They don’t view Stastny as a cap casualty because they are fine with cap space even if he stays and they re-sign their RFAs. They will be 500k- 1million in space if they keep him, but they can survive.

They would be tight especially if they want to add any type of UFA or try to add to their roster. But i do like the idea of a Stastny or Eric Staal type aging center that can fill the gap for a year maybe 2 till Cozens is ready. Hopefully Cozens comes into camp and takes the job right away but that has yet to be seen and we can't count on that like Botterill did with Mitts

I think they view a full year of Stephenson, Cousins, Whitecloud and possibly Hague as them “adding”. I expect Vegas to be very quiet during FA. (The exception to this thought is Pietroangelo. I do think they would move a ton to get him)
