Description
Haven't done one of these in a while. Since this is all hypothetical. NCAA cancels its season. Habs sign Caufield but intend to send him to CHL, but he blows everyone's mind at camp playing with Lafreniere, so they become inseparable!

STL re-signs Pietrangelo, trade Dunn to Habs for best return possible knowing an offersheet (with only a 2nd rd pick compensation) incoming that they won't be able to match (from any team).

Caufield gets a 40 goal rookie seasons (but we all have a laugh because he only ends up with like 8 assists) and Laf gets a 70 pts rookie season (with about 20g + 50a) but loses out the calder trophy to Kaprizov. Suzuki becomes a legit top two-way Center. Tatar-Danault-Gally put up the same numbers as the last two years. KK stays in the AHL to develop his 1C game on a line with Ylonen and Poehling (officially converted to LW). Blood bath / logjam for spots at RD with Juulsen surprising everyone showing top 4 potential and Fleury proving he's here to stay but worrying signs of slow down +injuries from both Weber and Petry....

Well those predictions are certainly bold.

Ignoring all of the crazy stuff, I don’t think that Juulsen making the team & showing to 4 potential wouldn’t surprise everyone, since he’s just starting from where he left off before the injury.

Juuslen (taking away his injuries) has always been a contentious prospect among Habs fans. I've always been high on him, but I know many aren't. At least when it comes to top 4 potential.

Apart from the Caufield and Laf stuff, I don't think it's too far out lol what do you think of the Dunn situation?

Dunn would be a VERY good pickup for the Habs

I don’t like the idea of trading for Dunn. I feel like this trade is only something a team that needs to win immediately would do. And even then, I don’t know if they would even do it. While I do think that we can afford to overpay for Dunn, I don’t think it makes sense to give up valuable assets just to make us a bit better in the short term. We won’t contend in the short term, so it’s pretty useless. I also don’t see how Dunn is that much of an upgrade over Mete. Not to mention the fact that his $4 million cuts into the limited cap space we have to re-sign our FAs.

I would much rather acquire an asset by taking Allen/Steen off the Blues hands so that they can sign Dunn than paying to get Dunn.
