Description
This is one way for the Wild to get back to contending in only one year.

Offer sheeting Cirelli is mean, but it is the best way. Cirelli gets the contract he would never get in Tampa; 6M and he is a UFA right after. He would take it and Tampa is so crippled they couldn't match it. Cirelli has the potential to be a 1st-line center.

Lehner wants a big payday and a long contract. He is an elite goalie, so max years and 7M is worth it. Lehner would normally get more but the cap is flat. Signing him until he's 35 is risky (Bobrovsky, anyone?), but that's how UFA-market works.

Dubnyk's and Pateryn's contracts are perfect for buying them out. This saves some cap for the Wild, as does burying Rask into the minors.

When Lehner and Kahkonen hold the two goalie positions, Stalock becomes more or less useless. Trading him would get the Wild back the 3rd rounder they lost offer sheeting Cirelli. Philly, on the other hand, needs Stalock. Brian Elliott is not worth bringing back and Stalock is a great and cheap backup for Carter Hart.

Sure dude why would Cirelli accepts $6 million from Minnesota when he could easily get $5m to $5.5m from Tampa? Probably need to be at least in the $7 million plus range to sign one from Minnesota.

Well, it could be around 6,3 million, as that is the max before Wild would have to give more picks.

Also, Tampa has 5,3 million in cap space with Cirelli, Sergachev and Cernak to sign. Sure they would give it all to Cirelli without blinking. This way Cirelli also gets to the UFA-market right after the deal, something that Tampa can't/won't offer him.

Never knew Minnesota was even close to contending, Bet Parise and Suter are regretting it now signing with the Wild.
