Certainly nothing wrong with the value in the Flames trade. A solid middle 6 forward for a mid level prospect and a 2nd. It also fills a position of need for the Flames.

Would the Flames do it? I guess it depends on whether or not they believe they can get Armia signed to a palatable extension and also on how they feel about little Z and where he fits going forward.

Comes down to the Flames trying to figure where either player will be in 3 years time, and which scenario they would rather have.

For Timmins and a 1st, COL can get much better return than one yr rental of 30y/o Tatar

Sakic wouldn't even trade Timmins + 1st for Hall last year, no way he does it for Tatar.

I'd MUCH rather have Timmins and Niemela locking down our RHD going forwards than 1 year of Tatar. Not even close.
