I think no one has had San Jose taking Askarov because they pick too late in the first(Tampa’s pick)

Looking at the Sharks’ goalie pool, there aren’t any blue-chippers to succeed Martin Jones when his contract expires. I don’t really consider Alexei Melnichuk, Josef Korenar, or Zach Émond a goalie of the future

So do you see the Sharks trading up to grab him?

Yes if they don't fully trust Melnichuk for the future.

I'd try to draft a goalie in the 4th round this year and take my time to develop him. Always good to have depth at every position.

Also the above package doesn't get you a top 15 pick. Add COL's 2nd rounder at the very least

Except Kapanen brings more to the table than Labanc who really didn't have a good season

This doesn't seem like a good idea for the Sharks, I mean are you trying to draft a piece for the future or be good next season? If it's draft a piece for the future might as well start selling off a lot more then just Labanc.
