  1. Englund, Andreas [RFA Rights]
OTT
  1. Sutter, Brandon
Additional Details:
Sutter has had a good playoff run. I don't think at this cap he will fetch a good return, but he's played well enough that he isn't a cap dump like everyone called him out on before.
He would be a very good mentor player in OTT
2.
VAN
OTT
  1. Baertschi, Sven
Additional Details:
agrees to terminate contract (if he had a lower cap hit I think he'd get NHL time somewhere)
3.
VAN
LAK
  1. 2021 4th round pick (VAN)
4.
VAN
  1. Nutivaara, Markus
Additional Details:
too many defensemen, not enough roster spots - Gavrikov's surge and Kukan's extension (I don't think Savard gets traded now) allow Nutivaara's value to be explored.
CBJ
  1. Gadjovich, Jonah
  2. 2021 2nd round pick (VAN)

Why would Ferland retire and leave nearly $10M on the table? He's only 28 years old.

Practically the first thing Ferland did the other night was instigate a fight -- strange behavior by a guy with a concussion history.

Ottawa declines both offers. Sutter would be taking ice time away from one of the kids, who quite frankly deserve it more. In addition to that, Ottawa's cap space is a weapon this coming off season and there's no way they're taking on Sutter's cap hit without getting something decent out of it, and I don't see why they'd help with Baertschi out of the kindness of their heart either. LOTS of teams are looking to shed cap. Ottawa is one of the few who can take it. Nothing gets you nothing.

There's that injury related retirement - Clarkson, Horton, Zetterberg, Franson .... that type, where they get paid but are on LTIR infinitely.
