You make an interesting point. If WPG wins 1OA, do they pick Stutzle or Byfield with it, do they trade down to pick a center, or do they stick with Lafreniere. If WPG wins, I think they are the only team that would consider not selecting Lafreniere with it, so that would definitely be interesting.

No projects at 1, draft lafreniere and make adjustments from there. I’m sure mtl overpays for lafreniere, or ship laine or somebody longtermed like connor, or ehlers

Way to steep a price for LA to pay. I get that's what the asking price might end up being, but LA passes that and takes the franchise center instead. They aren't going to wipe out their center depth for a winger, as good as Lafreniere is. If you want Byfield that badly, take him 1st overall.

The jets should absolutely not trade it. He is easily going to be the best out of all of them within a year. I would much rather trade Laine, Connor, or even Ehlers as a last resort then Laf. Any of those guys would get us significant help on the backend or a 2C
