Description
It's another disapointing season in Nashville as the team as been eliminated from the tournament by Arizona. Will there be big changes coming in Nashville. Many people ask for it, but because of the flap salary cap and big contract given to some players I Don't think they'll be one. The first change will be with Turris. The preds tried to trade him for a while, without finding a trade partner, therefore I expect a buyout. Trenin played good while being recalled, so I expect him to become a regular on the 4th or 3rd line. With the money saved they need to find a player to play the rw and I think their pick will be Dadonov. If Tolvanen can deliver they'll have a good top 6 at least on paper. The top 4 defenseman remains the same since they form a good group so they don't need the touch something that already works. I also expect a growth from Fabbro. In net it's gonna be a 1a-1b tandem between Saros and Rinne. I Don't think they'll move their 1st pick for immediate help because I think they're targeting Askarov to be their future goaltender. The core group is the same one that bring Nashville in the final couple season ago so they know what it takes to get there. Fabbro and Tolvanen will gain experience as the season go and I think it's he last dance for this group. If they fail again next season then I'll expect big changes, but now I Don't think they'll blow everything up.

It'll be interesting to see where this team stands in a shortened season. They have the skill upfront and a fantastic back-end... The question will be in net for sure... That Turris buyout is questionable, though. That may hurt in the long-run. It may be worth moving Bonino.

Has Turris been that bad?

Turris has been fine. Just not worth his caphit. I'd trade Bonino and play Turris at 3C personally but there have long been rumors of us trying to move Turris though so I think he'll be the one out. Bonino has performed well and if they want to make another run this season they'd probably be better off keeping him instead.

There are lots of wildcards in our forward prospects. Tolvanen is getting loaned to Jokerit to start the KHL season until camp starts. If he can get some confidence back and come into camp rolling he could see time in the NHL. Tomasino and Afanasyev both had good seasons. Tomasino could possible step into 2RW if Tolvanen isn't capable at 2LW. Trenin had a good season when he got to play in the NHL. I think he'll get full time this season.

The team is in a weird place. Right on the line of wanting to go all in and needing to do a quick retool. I'm weary of spending too much in the UFA pool. As we already have alot committed to players in their late 20s early 30s.
