    ...You paid a 2nd for Rieder and stuck him on the 4th line?

    He played the most minutes out of any forward on the Coyotes' roster last year and was a fixture on the PP and the PK. At least give him some more playing time than 4th-line minutes.

    I mean, he's no Conor Sheary...

    Mmm, I think Rieder and Sheary are similar players (decently fast, people tend to describe them as having a "grinding" and "hard-working" sort of play style, but they have skill, too). Rieder has 154 NHL games under his belt, though, compared to Sheary's 44, so I would entrust Rieder with top-6 minutes over Sheary (not that I think Sheary is a bad player, but I'm not convinced he's a long-term solution to the Penguins' search for decent wingers for Crosby). If this trade happened before training camp, Sheary certainly wouldn't be gifted his old spot and would have to compete with Rieder.
