Description
-Hank retires
-Rykov in the KHL
-Hajek and Staal rotate 3rd pair duty with Heed (cheap, good possession guy will do them both well I think)
-Smith is bought out; don’t want to waste assets to dump him somewhere and his buyout is pretty palatable (basically the equivalent of a league minimum contract next season)
-Top 9 is really interchangeable, just went with what I’d like to see...
-Feel bad the Kravtsov stays in the AHL but if he plays well enough, it’ll force their hand to bring him up. And if Gauthier struggles, he’s the first guy up to take his spot. Need to see more from him...

1.
NYR
  1. 2020 1st round pick (WPG)
Additional Details:
WPG need a top 6 C, especially with Little’s health situation in doubt. They can no doubt get a good C prospect at 10, but their window of opportunity is now. Strome cannot drive play on a line but he thrives in distributing the puck to elite wingers. WPG can put him in between any two of Connor, Laine, Wheeler, and Ehlers and he’ll put up great numbers and get the puck to them. Andersson serves as a mitigation to moving down. I know he doesn’t have a ton of value right now, but starting fresh in anew organization I believe he can be a productive bottom 6 guy with upside. The CAR first (hopefully in the 20-25 range or the value will def be off) is self explanatory and the third is a sweetener. WPG can still get a quality prospect with the CAR pick...
WPG
  1. Andersson, Lias
  2. Strome, Ryan [RFA Rights]
  3. 2020 1st round pick (CAR)
  4. 2020 3rd round pick (NYR)
Additional Details:
NYR can’t afford to pay Strome long term and there is little value in signing him to a one year deal and trading him as a rental/letting him walk in UFA. Rangers desperately need to add a center prospect for the future and they nah Anton Lundell at #10. He’ll need a couple of years to develop; a couple of years WPG don’t have. Trade is worth it for both teams in my opinion...
2.
NYR
  1. Henrique, Adam
  2. Tracey, Brayden
Additional Details:
ADA solidifies ANA’s top 4 and despite Henrique being a great two way guy, this gives more opportunity for their younger C’s to play and develop. Tracy included to offset age salary and production. ANA still might need to add considering the monster year ADA has but idk...
ANA
  1. Deangelo, Anthony [RFA Rights]
Additional Details:
ADA is a great transition d-man and power play quarterback but I think it would be unwise to commit term and money to him blocking players like Miller, Lundkvist, Jones, and Robertson. This fills a huge position of need, a two way, productive center and Henrique’s contract should be ending by the time players like Chytil are in their prime and Lundell/Henriksson are ready to play in the league.
3.
NYR
  1. Chatfield, Jalen [RFA Rights]
Additional Details:
AHL/ECHL depth trade
VAN
  1. Elmer, Jacob
Additional Details:
Nothing to overanalyzse here. Vancouver has an abundance of under contract /RFA AHLdefenseman ; NYR have an abundance of under contract/RFA AHL forwards.

Why are Ranger fans shipping DeAngelo everywhere?
What's wrong with him?

Nothing wrong with him, unless you are bothered by his politics lol. We just have a wealth of D prospects who project to be better then him/more balanced (he is a high octane guy who can put up 60 points easy but needs a well positioned, poised defenseman to balance out his defensive deficiencies). Oh and 925,000 is much cheaper then 4.5-6 million

the rangers need help on the blue line and deangelo is an offensive defenseman which is something the rangers have plenty of. Moving him and bringing in a defensive defenseman or a top 4 LD would help them out.
