As much as i dislike watching gaudreau play, i think he still has more value than that. Not much, but a bit.

It really depends.

If he starts producing, then the value goes up and maybe the Flames keep him. If he doesn't, I have no idea what his value is. It's no secret that the league knows he has the yips in the playoffs

That fluke goal on the line change with 40 seconds left was literally Gaudreau's first goal against in all 7 games. He has not been playing bad. I think its very likely Ward has asked him not to over extend this playoffs and play a more down to earth 200 foot game.

That's all fine and well. If the Flames have any visions of a deep playoff run though, they need more from Gaudreau. Especially with Tkachuk out, it's obvious he has a head injury, the "DTD" Ward is saying is likely lip service, you're probably talking about him missing a week of action.

It needs to be said that Dallas is a very tough team to generate against. That being said, there's a reason #13 makes 6.75 and it's not to be a 200ft guy, he's paid to drive offence. The Lucic line and the SHG's will only take you so far.

All in all, it's a good problem to have though, the Flames have a series lead despite getting very little from the big boys. They are too good to not produce at some point

Don't get me wrong, I agree that they need to step up but I also see it as similar to what Columbus did vs Toronto (and now Tampa) where they played Jones and Werenski vs they top line 90% of the time and shut them down. Dallas is doing just that with Klingberg and Lindell. Unlike the teams out east though we are doing a good job in getting depth scoring when they heavily focus our top unit.
