I don't get it.. Rakell and Lindholm both fill needs for the Ducks, why trade them for this? Little is in his prime, yet scored less than Raks who is sill young and improving (not to mention Raks will not cost $4.7m). And then Lindholm - likely the Duck's #1 Dman for the next decade - is going for a 4th liner, prospect, and pick. The Ducks have an aging core and are trying to win now. How does this achieve that at all?

The D core is so thinned that you have Montour and Theo playing together, who - despite great potential - have only 20 games NHL experience between them, and both of whom are caught in the offensive zone more than their own.

Ducks thin Dcore? That is actually so wrong its funny. Connor is more than a prospect if playing with Gretz and Perry probably scores 20-25 goals as a rookie. Little is a number center last 5 years and scores really well at even strength (where the ducks struggled last year). Ducks need forward depth its what they are lacking this helps. They have no issues on the back end. (2nd best defensive team last year). They need to score more this trade helps them do that. And keeps their budget in line.

It could work. Personally if I were Anaheim I would want a little more insurance in regards to 2 things before I could officially say yes to this deal. One would be to see how Connor would do in his first season before taking him and two, see where that pick ends up. For me if Connor shows 100% he's NHL ready and that 1st rounder is guaranteed to be a lottery pick, than I think you might have a deal. The most important part for me is the 1st rounder. If it isn't a lottery pick than I'm declining.
