Description
Ducks have too many NHL Dmen, so Fowler is expendable. They also have a handful of young dmen in the pipeline, and 2 offensive d in the top 6 already with Vats and Theo, so Montour can be traded.
The Ducks need a top line LW, and depth forwards who are on inexpensive contracts, which is where Detroit comes in.
Detroit has somethings like 14 NHL ready forwards (though a few are currently injured to start the season), and lack defensemen and d prospects, so Fowler and Montour would fill needs.

In terms of the lineup, Tatar would complement the twins well, and would force teams to matchup their best d against the top line. This would allow for Kessler and Rakell's lines to play against easier competition for production. The Vermette - Cogs combo is with the thought of making the 4th line more defensively focused so Kesler isn't stuck babysitting the best opposition players all game and can instead score some goals. Let me know what you guys think!

As a Wings fan, I would take you up on the Fowler deal. I don't know enough about Montour to know if that 2nd deal would make sense. But at first glance if we've already moved Tatar, I can't see Mantha going anywhere. We need to hold on to some young offensive talent.

I think a Tatar+Jurco deal for Cam Fowler is a fair deal for both Detroit and Anaheim. I think Montour will be a stud D-man down the road would easily do Mantha for Montour but if we move Tatar i seriously doubt that we would move Mantha as well.

Would tatar be anything more than a one year rental? Can they afford to resign him? I think that would be a hang up.

Understandable about whether or not Det would still be willing to part with Mantha after giving up 2 fwds, there are definitely pros and cons to it. But I feel the value is there and with or without Tatar the d prospects are slim in Det so I feel it's possible.

I think he'd be resigned as Bernier would be off the books, Bieksa will likely be bought out or traded to protect Lindholm, Manson, and Vats, and then Despres or would likely be taken in expansion if not traded just prior. Combined that'd clear up to $11m in cap, which would be enough to resign Jurco, Tatar, and a new backup net minder

Red Wings Fan and Austin: Just curious, in what order do you perceive the value of Jurco, Pulkkinen, Athanasiou, and Mantha?
