Description
Need to get younger and faster around the edges of the lineup. Cap dump some players that aren't working out here.

Trade for Dumba, his advanced stats suggest he's superb in entry/exit/entry D, although slightly below Orlov. Orlov/Dumba pair could be absolutely lethal for 21-22 mins a night, elite defensively with a touch of offense.

McC starts 3C with Eller gone, getting about 15 mins a night.

Keep Kuzy, hopefully a new more respected coach can get him to focus. I'm hoping for Gallant. If not, trade him in the 2021 off season for additional cap space/picks or a forward.

Sign a fast, youngish bottom 6 forward to replace Panik.

I guess the question is: does that get Dumba in a Caps uniform?

Dumba looks like a great fit for what we need, defensive minded two way defenseman, and he's still in his prime at age 26.

Wild need centers, and I just gave them two. Eller is a good 2/3C that played perhaps his best season yet at a .57 PPG pace with 55.7% CF, guy was a beast this year and heading for a 50 point season. He's also good on defense and PK. A true smart 2 way C. Protas was lighting it up in juniors and looks to be an absolute steal in round 3. His ceiling looks to be a good 3C or solid 2C.

I’d need to do some research on Protas to be sure, but based on your description of him, you aren’t close yo getting Dumba. Try McMichael instead.

What if I added a first but kept Protas in? His ceiling is a 2C probably. He played very well in juniors, and has rare size. I think he's going to be pretty good.
