Description
Not sure what Jets fan's think about this trade. I added in a 3rd on the Flames side, simply due to the recent performance by Sean. I think it helps give the Jets a very good 2C, for similar cap hit, while Monahan still has term left on his contract. They can still keep going while Wheeler has time.

I would take any deal to free us off Jankowski and Ryan, Haula is an excellent player for the Flames system, do people think he would sign for that $3.3M value if term was offered?

Flames need players who can drive a hard style of play, with speed and intensity, I feel Haula and Ehlers would add that.

I like Ehlers a lot. And I like his contract.

But why would CGY be adding to this deal? Monahan is slightly younger, has a better scoring resume, and is a bonafide C, whereas Ehlers is a winger.

CGY is probably better off trading Monahan for a package of assets somewhere, and then using some (not all) of those assets to acquire Ehlers. That's better asset management.
